A Letter of Appreciation to all our Filipino Friends
by: Changseob "Bruce" Lim, Team Leader KIV 2010 Anneoung Haseyou, Mabuhay Dear Filipino Friends! We are members of Korea Internet Volunteer (KIV) sent forth by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to contribute to the overseas expansion of Korean IT infra and spread the digital Korean wave. My team members are also students in Korea University taking up Management Information System (MIS). We applied for a volunteer work in the Philippines to spend our vacation meaningfully. Lucky indeed, many people support us that make us adapt to the circumstances here in the Philippines. We really appreciate the assistance extended to us to make this endeavor possible and worthwhile. In addition, all of our students are kind and friendly. My team and Filipino students shared and cherished many things despite our different culture. The cultural difference does not matter anymore and made us friends even we are across the globe, divided by vast land and great oceans. We found other meanings of life here, dear friends and those are you. Most people who we’ve met here are warm and congenial. Engr. Theody Sayco, Joey and Celia are like our parents. They always find ways to make things easy for us. We have done out volunteer work without any problems because of them. Thank you for your help and everything. Mr. Jess Mutuc, the jolly Filipino fellow who alone can speak Korean that cheerfully say hello and never fails to brighten our day. We greatly appreciate his help. To all the Faculty Members at the ISI whose smiles are more than enough to convey their appreciation for us. We also have something to say to our students in Java Class. Carlo, Jim, Jomer, Joy, Angel and Nehemiah, we are indeed impressed with their commitment to learn. They’ve never been absent and did their best in Java class even if Java class starts a little late in the evening. Thank you for sharing your passion towards Java with us. Now we have more things in common. To Jane and Jim, thank you for spending time with us and the feedbacks given that made us overcome our apprehensions in teaching Database. We admire Akiko and Bea’s team for the strong drive to complete their team project. We are holding dear the handkerchief and key ring you have given us which deep in our hearts we recognized as the sign of our sincere friendship. Ivy’s team, who are from different department and are always cheerful for coming to class one hour early every Thursday to take part in Database special class. Thank you for your diligence. Maria, Agne and Carlo who give us the very much appreciated respect by simply informing us beforehand they are absent in the Database class. Finally, we want to say thank you for joining in Korean Language and Culture class. We are inspired because all of students were active and never run out of smile though at times our lesson tends to be boring. We admire their attitude in our class. They wrote almost everything during Korean language class. We feel honored for your interest in our culture. We foresee Angel and Reichel might soon be masters of Korean language. Jane, Jim, Aireen and Lorraine are greatly interested in Korea and they helped us a lot for teaching us Filipino in return. Joy always vibrantly says “Annyeong (Hello)”. Ann, Allan and Joan were ardent learners during class (dearly uttering “Why are you guys absent the class? We miss you”). Carlo is very cute and tried his best even though he took part in our class a little late. Jomer is very smart and the ace among our male students. Larrabell and Nesselyn the shy ones, but their willingness in class is something that shuns the shyness in them. True enough, all our students are impressive and loveable. We will miss you all guys. We will go back to Korea very soon. We were so happy and will always be happy for all our memories here in the Philippines. We gained many friends and priceless memories from CLSU. We want to share and teach more here, but time is not enough. We want to come back here, if given the chance again. We will never forget CLSU. We hope to see you some day. Thank you everyone. God bless you! |
